The Alien Invasive Hack is a SER driven initiative (Social and Environmental Responsibilities) to educate learners about invasive species and their threat to biodiversity. It forms part of a larger plan to create accessible green, educational, and interactive green spaces around the DSK and the clearance is done several times a year.

A big thank you to SANParks and “Friends of Lions Head and Signal Hill” for their tremendous effort and contributions to our mission.

The learners truly loved this event as it was also an outdoors classroom experience: They got to know different types of alien invaders, why they’re not any good for our endemic biodiversity, and how to learn while doing!
